Is that a sentence you created yourself? :)
Well, we had to translate “Because I have a Chinese test next Thursday, I asked Wang Peng to help me practice speaking Chinese.” so I created the Chinese version!
The times when my body is ready to go to sleep and when I want to be asleep are completely out of touch with each other
This shouldn’t be so hard to coordinate right

How Good Omens Was Not Written
At the Neil Gaiman Q&A at Anticipation (Worldcon09) in Montreal, he mentioned something about how people tend to believe that he wrote the plot to Good Omens and Terry Pratchett went after him strewing all the jokes.
The original now belongs to Neil, thus why I don’t have a proper scan but merely a photograph. 8)
Neil and Terry belong to themselves. >_>
this is actually how I kinda decided Good Omens was written too :3

I always feel warm inside when ever I read stuff to do with Brienne. I sound quite silly here, but there is a goodness to her which I welcome in series like this and something dawned on me when I was reading her chapter, as to why she was special to me. It’s all related to Sansa’s songs about Knights in Shining Armour to save the day, and how our pretty baby is getting quite disheartened by this idea of knights and stuff.
Bear with me a bit because I’m probably rambling about things that the fandom knew before I did but I need to let it out and ugh ugh.
Simple speak, I find it incredible that in a world which pines for more noble people and truer knights like the ones in songs and dreams, a world which tells young ones like Sansa that they no longer exist… Well you know, a true knight has been with us the whole time. A pure and noble person who’s only aim is to be honourable and good- fuck, it’s Brienne you know. Brienne of Tarth. I get the feeling GRRM wrote all these fucked up knights who could only get away with such a title because they are dudes, when Brienne has been here the time. But because of the sexism riddled in this world, people won’t see this real Knight because she’s a woman. But I guess he wrote it like that to really show us what makes a Knight.
And in hindsight, I love love looove that he paired Brienne and Jaime the way he did, because they both effectively subvert what it means to be a noble and honourable person or a knight, but only one will be recognised as such (Jaime), while the other will be lampooned (Brienne).
And I think what is also incredible about Brienne, or how she is written is that she’s not written the way a lot of male writers tend to go about with masculine women ( you know, the sexy tomboy thing but are secretly waiting for a man to make them feminine). She is tough. She is big. She’s gloriously masculine and she is a fighter to the core. Not the hypersexual fighter thing you see in games. But a genuine fighter. And personally, I find her to be just as beautiful as all the other women in this series because she subverts so much shit and remains to be so perfect.
Sorry, I am rambling and making no sense, but I love Brienne and I want more women like her in fiction.
this is a wonderful description of Brienne and what makes her my favorite ASOIAF character <3
Megaupload was a fucking huge site that honestly was mostly devoted to sharing illegal files.
While there may be some copyright issues with sharing on Tumblr, it’s a) not the main purpose of the site b) on a much smaller scale and c) mostly just used for sharing images, video clips, and a song or two, in my experience at least.
The issue behind the internet piracy bills is intellectual property rights and economics; (although obviously I don’t have any data to back this up) I am almost positive Tumblr has like zero impact on the entertainment industry’s sales. At most, Tumblr is a middle man that helps others find access to pirated materials hosted elsewhere.
I can only imagine Tumblr being shut down in a worst case scenario where the government has gone batshit and is basically closing the internet.
perhaps we’ll get stronger restrictions on what can be posted, maybe
otherwise I don’t get it
am I missing something?
